According to the Bible, “marriage is to be honoured by all”. The word honour actually carries with it the meaning of holding something deeply precious. Marriage is deeply precious to God and therefore deeply precious to us. We believe that marriage is the first institution designed by God. We believe that the covenant of marriage is sacred and lifelong. We believe that marriage is a legally binding public declaration of commitment and a private consummation between man and woman. We believe that the marriage commitment must be upheld in our culture as that sacred institution in which a man and a women can experience the truest sense of spiritual, emotional and physical intimacy, so that the two can become one.
